Short description of Transformap in English?
Can somebody pls. point me to the BEST short description of TransforMap we have so far in English? Thanks SIlke
There is no one. Therefore we are free to formulate one. Like: Transformap is the map of all initiatives, projects and organizations working in order to meet fundamental needs of people in an inclusive, democratic and sustainable way instead of maximizing profits. If you don't define what "alternative economies" are and what "social innovation" is and how "social-ecological transformation" is meant, you send an invitation to all sorts of corporate image optimizers and consultants looking for new marketing strategies to sell more of the same neoliberal crap with a a new, tempting image. They will sell you Auschwitz as social innovation. In a way, it was one. But in what direction ??? What is economy all about? We have to define that first. Have a look at what Manfred Max Nief wrote on economy. He says, the aim of economy is to meet human needs. @Giuliana: I agree with all what you say, I was only pointing at an existing text. The fact is that we do not have this generally agreed two-sentence description of TransforMap. Would you like to take the lead in organizing the collective process to write an agreed definition of TransforMap? I'd be happy to support. Ideally Loomio <https://www.loomio.org/>would be the perfect tool for such process. However that implies that each participant invests a bit of time in understanding how that works (which could be highly beneficial for future decisions that require a broad participation). Alternatively, using a pad for writing would be the most consensual and cooperative way to do it. We could use the existing Discourse topic <http://discourse.transformap.co/t/self-description-of-transformap/164/4>to have the discussion around specific points (as you started).
